JW BACK COUNTRY MOVIE DAY
DATE:6th JAN 2008
VENUE:UNKNOWN LOCATION 15 MINUTE FLIGHT FROM MERIBEL ALTIPORT, FRANCE
The day everyone had been waiting for! We had waited a long time to
shoot this movie and the weather had not been on our side until now.
Fifteen of us awoke when it was still dark to meet the team in Val D’
Isère to load up. Once all the equipment had been packed and all the
JW Seasonnaires were in the Picnics on the Piste’s Minis and Q7, we
began the road trip to Meribel Altiport. One hour, forty-five minutes
later we arrived; everyone woke up and saw the day we had ahead. Blue
skies, powder, aeroplanes and empty slopes…good times!
Each plane could only hold two people at a time so quite a few trips to
and from the un-disclosed location had to be made. Once everyone had
arrived we began shooting the movie. We had one small chalet with
everything we could need and a massive empty mountain to
dominate...where do we start?! Check out the photos and video to see
what you missed out on!
A special thank you to Picnics on the Piste for your aeroplanes and
logistical assistance for the movie and other events throughout the
tour!

JW BIG PARK DAY
DATE:4th JAN 2008
VENUE:VAL/TIGNES DC SNOW PARK, FRANCE
Everybody awoke to a blue sky and fresh powder, today was going to be a
good day! The 4th January marked the day of the JW Big Park day, where
thirty contestants had the chance to compete for some free clothes and a
night out in Val D’ Isère. Picnics on the Piste provided delicious BBQ
food throughout the day to keep all the riders and spectators happy
while we watched on. This year some serious talent was seen in the park
as well as some serious wipe outs! The JW Seasonnaires team entered two
people who came in 2nd and 3rd place, not bad lads! As they were JW
Seasonnaires and even though they didn’t win…we still took them out for
a big night to celebrate and of course they got some free clothes!

JW SNOWBALL FIGHT
DATE:2nd JAN 2008
VENUE:VAL D’ISERE, FRANCE
JW Seasonnaires teamed up in their customised jump suits, and prepped
themselves in Bananas, for the Picnics on the Piste/Jack Wills Snow ball
fight (to see photos click here – can you apply a link to galleries
here). After the Après-ski was complete and darkness had fallen, the
flood lights on the piste were switched on. All teams embarked onto the
slope for what was the first ‘organised’ snowball fight Val D’Isère had
even seen. Ten teams entered the tournament, only one would win. The
rules were simple, if you’ve seen Dodge Ball you would understand, don’t
get hit! Jack Wills Seasonnaires were first to enter the pitch, against
the tight lycra cycling suits donned by the Army. Yes, they looked
ridiculous! An initial strong start from the JW team was soon to be
recognized as premature. The Army’s fitness and strategic positioning
meant we didn’t stand a chance; 85-36 hits! Pathetic performance lads! Better luck next year!

NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY
DATE:31st DEC 2007
VENUE:DICK’S TEA BAR, VAL D’ISERE, FRANCE
As 2007’s New Year’s Party was such a success we decided to do it again!
This year was a sell-out event a week before New Year with queues around
the block on the night. Live music, goody bags and champagne was flowing
as JW Seasonnaires and guests counted down till midnight!
The after-party followed through until 10am via Bananas and Petit
Damois! January 1st was a day off for some but a lot of seasonnaires
went back to the slopes to finish off New Year’s day at the Folie Deuce!
See you all again on December 31st 2008! Location still to be decided…
